ABOUT

I am Gabriel Farago, an Industrial Designer from Ottawa, Ontario. I design physical products and experiences, spanning the entire product development cycle. I specialize in advanced 3D surfacing modelling and digital transformation; implementing innovative technology to refine design and decision making processes.

I have designed waterslides all over the world, created my own custom fit 3D printed shoes, and successfully implemented VR technology and automation processes to revolutionize organizational communication and efficiency. I am focused, accountable and a relentless action taker who thrives in a collaborative team setting. I combine my aesthetic sensibility, attention to detail, manufacturing expertise, and knowledge of emerging technologies to make better products and processes.

I am interested in how products, experiences and environments can influence the user’s emotions and feelings. Following this fascination has led me to work with Proslide Technology Inc, where I have designed innovative water slides for waterparks all over the world. Working in the attractions industry has taught me how to design beautiful and functional products that impact people viscerally. I love that my work helps make exciting memories for friends and families on vacation.

I have also launched my own independent footwear design studio and developed a custom-fit 3D printed shoe with Zellerfeld. I have been interested in fashion design since I was 15 years old, inspired by designers like Raf Simons, Issey Miyake, Virgil Abloh and Matthew M Williams. Designing and selling my own shoes have been a lifelong dream.

As a young designer I am looking forward to continuing to learn, grow and develop my career. My curiosity has led me to interview over 60 designers and business owners across different domains to learn about their professional journeys and hear their stories. Growing up playing competitive soccer has shaped my accountability, work ethic, teamwork and collaborative attitude. 

In my free time I love to be active, especially working out in the gym and cycling; my bike is my secret tool where I get all of my creative ideas. I like comedy and watching MMA, when I just want to relax.
